What we do
Recruitment, end to end
EC World represents universities and colleges in the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada, and works with a network of recruitment agencies who advise students in their own markets. The agency knows the student; we know the institution, the entry requirements and the paperwork.
When an agency applies for a student, our processing team screens the application, sends it to the university, and follows it through screening, offers, the tuition deposit, the confirmation document the destination requires, and the visa decision. We are paid commission by the university when the student enrols, and we share it with the agency that placed them.
We built and run Riseway so that all of this is visible to everyone involved, rather than living in a spreadsheet and an inbox.

In practice
Four things we try not to compromise on
These are not values on a wall. Each one is a decision we have had to make more than once, usually when the easier option was available.
Say the real thing
A student whose application was refused should be told why. An agency whose commission is on hold should be told what it is waiting for. We build and write so that the unwelcome answer is still the clear one.
Check before you send
It costs us a day to screen an application and costs a student a year to have one rejected for a missing document. We would rather hand work back than pass a problem on.
Own the whole path
Recruitment fails in handovers. We keep one team accountable from the application to the visa decision, so there is never a stage where the answer is that it is somebody else’s part.
Earn when they enrol
We are paid on enrolment, not on applications submitted. It keeps our interests and our agencies’ interests pointed at the same thing: students who actually arrive.
